Potry & Safre Stool

Potry & Safre ceramic stool and Safre antique cotton blend cushion.

Unique piece.

Stools made by Potry composed of ferrous clay harvested in Chalonnes-sur-Loire, Loire sand and glaze made from vine shoot ash.

They were mounted with a loaf of bread and then clawed with the fist of the hand.
12-hour electric cooking time.

Amélie Patry , the driving force behind the Potry ceramics workshop, engages physically with the landscapes that surround her.

She collects clays, rocks, and plants to model and glaze.

She transforms, rehydrates, pounds, grinds and burns her discoveries.

Each object thus shaped is endowed with a small, intimate geography, bearing witness to places explored.

Cushion made by Safre in antique mixed fabric, cold dyed by fermentation with eucalyptus leaves for several months.

The fabric is then coated with beeswax and then stuffed with raw manex wool from the neighboring village.
It is finally padded to enhance its comfort.

Safre is a fine craft workshop created in 2019 by Martin Bady. It combines the creation of clothing and bespoke interior textiles.

Its great distinctiveness lies in the use of ancient processes such as cold dyeing by fermentation, which dates back to antiquity.

He gives his creations a unique imprint that we instantly fell in love with.
