Le Ruisseau is a ceramicist duo formed by Églantine Merle and François Marteau.
After art studies, they committed themselves to sculptural and pictorial practices, as well as contemporary jewelry.
They have retained a taste for the transformation of matter, the expressiveness of the gesture, and attention to detail. Ceramics is their preferred medium today.
Inspired by Histoire d'un ruisseau (The History of a Stream), an inspiring piece of writing by the geographer-poet Elisée Reclus, they are attentive to a familiar nature that they strive to always view with wonder. Their ceramics are associated with natural places conducive to the emergence of the imagination, such as foreshores, caves, or mountains.
Le Ruisseau wishes to honor the fundamental bonds that connect us to nature and to reweave them.
