Le Ruisseau is a ceramicist duo formed by Églantine Merle and François Marteau.
After art studies, they committed themselves to sculptural and pictorial practices, as well as contemporary jewelry.
They have retained a taste for the transformation of matter, the expressiveness of the gesture, and attention to detail. Ceramics is now their preferred medium.
Inspired by "Histoire d'un ruisseau," an evocative work by the poet-geographer Élisée Reclus, they are attentive to a familiar nature that they strive to observe with constant wonder. Their ceramics are associated with natural places conducive to the emergence of the imagination, such as foreshores, caves, or mountains.
Le Ruisseau wishes to honor the fundamental bonds that connect us to nature and to reweave them.
