Le Ruisseau is a ceramicist duo formed by Églantine Merle and François Marteau.

Following their art studies, they engaged in sculptural and pictorial practices as well as contemporary jewelry making.

From this, they retained a taste for the transformation of matter, the expressiveness of the gesture, and attention to detail. Ceramics is now their preferred medium.

Inspired by Histoire d'un ruisseau (The History of a Brook), an evocative work by the poet and geographer Elisée Reclus, they are attentive to a familiar nature that they strive to view with constant wonder. Their ceramics are associated with natural places conducive to the emergence of the imaginary, such as foreshores, caves, or mountains.

Le Ruisseau wishes to honor the fundamental ties that connect us to nature and to reweave them.
