Le Ruisseau is a ceramicist duo formed by Églantine Merle and François Marteau.

After studying art, they turned to sculptural, painterly practices and contemporary jewelry.

They retain a taste for transforming materials, the expressiveness of gesture, and attention to detail. Ceramics are now their preferred medium.

Inspired by Histoire d'un ruisseau, an inspiring work by the poet and geographer Élisée Reclus, they pay close attention to the familiar natural world, which they strive to view with constant wonder. Their ceramics are associated with natural places conducive to the emergence of the imagination, such as shorelines, caves, or mountains.

Le Ruisseau wishes to honor the fundamental bonds that connect us to nature and to reweave them.
