The son of an archaeologist whose specialty was medieval ceramics and who had the annoying habit of using his childhood bedroom as a storage space, Laurent Nicourt was for a long time impervious to terracotta.
That was without taking into account atavism and a late-blooming passion for Japanese ceramics.
Self-taught, more creative than an artist, Laurent Nicourt experiments, tries, combines, merges, persists, fails or succeeds.
His pieces, signed Inalterra, are thus the sweet mixture of a very precise idea and an imprecise technique.
