A graduate of the Bruges School of Fine Arts, François Maréchal studied with Jean and Jacqueline Lerat. His diploma enabled him to become both a teacher and a potter.
He turns to the wood-firedkiln and raw or lightly engobed stoneware. He designs his pieces and builds them by assembling slabs.
