Thomas Junghans is a graduate of the City Academy and the Jan Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht.

He deliberately cultivates the practice of "not overdoing" in his work and strives to retain the primitive force of the materials in his abstract works which can nevertheless evoke a figurative profile.
