Thomas Junghans is a graduate of the City Academy and the Jan Van Eyck Academy in Maastricht.

He deliberately cultivates the practice of "not overdoing" in his work and strives to keep the primitive strength of the materials in his abstract works – works which can nevertheless evoke a figurative profile.
