Marseille soap in bronze by Victor Guedy
Marseille soap in patinated bronze by Victor Guedy.
Piece numbered and signed by the artist.
After having pushed open the doors of metaphysics during the three years of a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, he turned to the traditional art of stone cutting within the Compagnons du Devoir. An apprenticeship of excellence that led him to work for the greatest, notably within the prestigious Ateliers Saint-Jacques, where he supervised the marble department. It was there that bronze captivated him, a material that he learned to master within the very famous Fonderie de Coubertin, in contact with the last contemporary practitioners of Rodin.
Victor Guedy lives and works in Paris. His sculptural work is articulated in numbered collections and noble materials, combining the captivating energy of pagan megaliths with the refinement of French functional sculpture.
