The Maison Pelletier Ferruel (2019) is more than a house, it is a place of life and creation. From design to living-with, and sometimes returning to FIRE, the GLASS creations - sculpted objects - are tinged with its history, and nourished by a stubborn practice of glass blowing, molding, cutting and glass paste.
"We have been here since we met at the confluence of a stream and a river in which we bathe in the summer. This building was abandoned several years ago, we are taking the time to remodel the spaces and especially to create the tools, objects, furniture that surround us. How to inhabit this place is at the heart of our reflections.
Our place of life is also that of punctual residents, transient or permanent, organic and mineral. And probably by all the ghosts, the stories that we do not know how to touch.
The house and its exterior are a place of cohabitation, play, pleasure, birth and death where everything is a workshop of relationships.
It is also important for us to conceptualize the union that generated Maison Pelletier Ferruel. A collective intimacy – rather than an individuality – at the service of creation. Everything mixes here. The fluids of our ideas and gestures are shared, moving and constant. Just as the vegetables that grow in the vegetable garden are food and spirit nourishment.
We use this place as a research ground but also as a life in order to test our objects before sending them away, if necessary. We like the idea that these sculptures and objects ask us humans to adapt to them. The form has its importance to be in "connection with". Relationships and empathy are the core of the story, to consider other forms of relationship with this/this one that surrounds us.
Each sculpture, object, is unique and part of a very talkative family. They animate us, adorn us as much as they propose to travel.
Our inspirations are eggs, humus, decompositions, buds, breath, skin, fertility, peat... We love more than anything to simply look at what moves and transforms at our feet, at the edge of the river, in the garden. In living with, living together . The proposals become cooking tools, gardening tools, sculptures, discussions, love."
