Small ceramic bull talisman vessel by Rosie McLachlan.
Unique handmade piece.
Rosie McLachlan obtained her MFA from Newcastle University and a BA in Archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology, University College London, during which time she also studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, London.
Her work has been exhibited by the Arusha Gallery (UK) and Cavin Morris Gallery (New York), among others. Her ceramic objects draw on motifs from comparative mythology, folklore and archaeology.
Her works are made from wild clays, which are wood-fired for 4 days and nights in an anagama kiln. The long firing process is an act of devotion, and the resulting sculptural works are transformed by the heat, flames and ashes.
